A Bit About Us

This website was started after Charlie had written about 60 reviews of books read and a few products purchased on line. Realizing it would be nice to have a place to post those reviews besides GoodReads, Amazon, and SmashWords, we created this site. Hopefully, as you browse, you will find some useful information.

Who is Charlie? Charlie Kravetz (charlie-tca) was originally from Bessemer, Michigan. Having grown up there and joined the US Air Force, he traveled the world for 20 years. During that time, his mother moved to Boise, Idaho. Not having a real home for 20 years of travel, Charlie got out of the Air Force and decided to settle in either Idaho or Las Vegas, Nevada. Both seemed wonderful. Idaho won, and he became a Journeyman Plumber in Idaho. Dropping a lot of heavy tools seemed bad, so he went to the doctor. The doctor said, “Charlie, you have multiple sclerosis. Don’t you have problems holding onto heavy tools?” Of course, that explained the dropping problems.

Now Charlie had to decide where to live again, and how. Due to extreme fatigue, he could not work 8 hours a day. That limits what one can really do for work. When his legs gave up for a few years, he moved in with his daughter in Idaho. When the legs decided to work again, he traveled back and forth between daughters in Idaho and Nevada.

Being an avid reader, book reviews seemed like a great idea. Since the ebooks allow one to grow text big enough to read with poor eyesight, Charlie tries to read ebooks as much as possible.

I should explain that Charlie reads a lot of books. He reads everyday, sometimes several times a day. He reads a chapter at a time, because a chapter makes a nice place to pause. Because he reads a lot, he reads a book or two from a series, then takes a break and reads a different book or two. This allows him to digest what he reads, without forgetting where he last left the series. It also gives him a chance to view each book on its own merits without mixing up the story with the last one he read.

The reviews are as honest as anyone can write them. They are not changed by anyone’s request. Sometimes, a book will be read again, and the review may change accordingly.
